Young Musicwide Award 2010

Music Network is once again recruiting a jazz ensemble for the period September 2010 - September 2013. Young Musicwide is a unique professional development scheme designed to assist a selected group of Ireland's brightest young musicians at the beginning of their professional career. Through an audition process, one jazz ensemble will be selected to participate in the Young Musicwide programme for three years. Previous recipients of the award include Organics (2004) and Trihornophone (2007).



The main features of the award are:




  • Performance opportunities with Music Network promoters in Ireland



  • An agreed fee and expenses for each concert

  • Marketing tools such as professional photoshoot; professionally designed posters, fliers and programmes and PR support around concert activity and CD launch

  • Professional support and advice towards the development of participants' careers as professional musicians

  • Masterclass/workshop opportunities

  • Subsidised production of CD and CD launch event

  • Inclusion for one member of the ensemble on Music Network continuing professional development courses

  • A Dublin showcase concert

  • After a 3-year period, an invitation to the group, subject to agreement, to join Music Network's artist roster
