Following his first release as a Trio Circles, Live @ 55 bar in 2002, Laurent Medelgi expands to a full 10-piece band with this new CD Diverses.
Recipient of a Grant by A.E. Ventures Foundation in the Summer 06, he is able to record a full length album of his original compositions which he orchestrates for a Horn section and String Quartet, taking time off from the various Broadway Shows where he sits in as an understudy.
The result is Diverses, an eclectic palette showcasing his talents as a composer and guitarist, which ranges from heartfelt Ballads on Classical Guitar to Fast Swing pieces and Contemporary Groove-oriented songs.
Laurent has studied with Mike Stern and Wayne Krantz, calls New York City his home and made his Broadway debut in the Lead Guitar Chair of RENT in 2005.
