(Wolfgang Schalk, guitar, composition;Helen Sung, piano;Andy McKee, bass;Ian Froman, drums) Wolfgang Schalk has garnered international acclaim as a gifted guitarist and composer. Schalk has recorded four CDs with all original music released under his name including “The Second Third Man" featuring 11-time Grammy award-winning Michael Brecker.

His new album “Space Messengers" (Universal Music) showcases intricate-yet-accessible performances of a colorful spectrum of Wolfgang Schalk's new compositions. The new CD features an impressive line-up of notable musicians, including Dave Kikoski on piano, Andy McKee on bass and Ian Froman on drums -- Schalk's working band since 2002. “Space Messengers" received enthusiastic praise from journalists, musical peers and fans alike. On November 18th, 2006 they will be triangulating their arrival at The Cornelia Street Caf from three distant points on the earth for a 9pm downbeat.
