Please tune in for another great musical performance on WLRN's South Florida Arts Beat, Friday, May 14, 2010

featuring the FEDERICO BRITOS GROUP

Multiple Grammy award-winning violinist and composer, Federico Britos, is a musical legend. He has served as principal chair, soloist and Concertmaster with some of the world's finest symphony orchestras (including the Florida Philharmonic Orchestra). As well, he has performed with Jazz legends Duke Ellington, Dizzy Gillespie, Nat King Cole, Woody Herman, Benny Goodman, Charlie Haden, Dexter Gordon and Charlie Byrd among other American music greats. Include great Hispanic and Brazilian stars among that list, Astor Piazzolla, Joao Gilberto, Vinicius de Moraes, Israel “Cachao" Lopez, Bebo Valdes, and Luis Miguel and you can see that Mr. Britos is a towering musician of broad talents and diverse experience, a titan of the violin. He brings to South Florida Arts Beat a wonderful quartet to perform compositions from his latest CD, Voyage (Sunnyside Records).

Please tune in worldwide on our Internet site at WLRN.Org at 1:00pm, EST on 5/14/10, for the broadcast.

This show is generously co-sponsored by Pollo Tropical and Friends of WLRN.

All About Jazz needs your support

All About Jazz & Jazz Near You were built to promote jazz music: both recorded albums and live events. We rely primarily on venues, festivals and musicians to promote their events through our platform. With club closures, limited reopenings and an uncertain future, we've pivoted our platform to collect, promote and broadcast livestream concerts to support our jazz musician friends. This is a significant but neccesary step that will help musicians and venues now, and in the future. You can help offset the cost of this essential undertaking by making a donation today. In return, we'll deliver an ad-free experience (which includes hiding the sticky footer ad). Thank you!
