Work on a possible James Bond film theme has been abandoned because singer Amy Winehouse is not ready to make music, producer Mark Ronson has said.

Winehouse's producer Ronson added that their work on other new music had not been finished either. “Unless by some miracle of science it gets recorded and someone sings a vocal," the song would not materialise.

Winehouse's spokesman said the decision was taken because the artist had “other ideas" about how the song should be developed. “She has always made her own decisions about her music. Needless to say, this is part of the process between artist and producer and we're sure they will continue to make great music together," he added.

Bond music composer David Arnold has said he thought Amy would have been “wonderful" for the job but nothing had been confirmed yet. The pair had yet to be officially signed up to compose the theme for Quantum of Solace, while Ronson said in a recent interview that the singer had been approached to work on the project. He added that a demo had been produced, which “sounds like a James Bond theme".

Winehouse, the five time Grammy Award winner, does not seem to be handling her recent success and her temporary release from rehab. Mark Ronson, said it would be a “miracle of science" to finish recording for the Bond title song, which has catapulted careers of even major stars. It's because the singer is “not ready to work," her music producer surprisingly said Friday, she just could not finish the track.

Winehouse, whose battle against drink and drug addiction has overshadowed her musical success, recently received a police caution for common assault after slapping a man. Winehouse's troubles with drugs, law enforcement and her rocky romance with her jailed husband Blake Fielder-Civil have kept the singer in the spotlight. Police gave her a formal warning last week after she scuffled with two men during a raucous night out, head butting one, and punching out the other.

In March, 'Live and Let Die' singer, Paul McCartney had offered some songwriting advice to Winehouse when it came to the theme tune for the James Bond film, Quantum of Solace. McCartney said recently: “I think Amy Winehouse would be really good, and I think she would do a really good job. My advice to her would be not to try and rhyme Solace with anything - that's too hard. I have been trying to think of something to rhyme with Solace and all I can come up with is Wallace! I don't envy whoever is going to do the song!"
