Willie Oteri's WD-41 Project

Improviser/Guitarist/Producer Willie Oteri has teamed with Austin Trumpeter Dave Laczko for an improvisational duo using loops and dueling delays to create aural landscapes and improvisational outings and recordings, which will soon be available as mp3 downloads complete with very special guests.

Dave Laczko is a veteran of the Austin Jazz scene from a longtime run with pianist Mel Winters, Fearless Jazz Duo and Austins Barons of Rhythm. Laczko also had a long run as a Jazz Radio DJ at Autins KAZI.

Willie Oteri, originally from the Bay Area of California moved to Austin Texas in 1998 and quickly became part of the scene with his band Jazz Gunn aka MateMaToot, (see reviews of Jazz Gunn here at All About Jazz) More recently Oteri has performed and recorded works with alumni from several arenas including his CD Spiral Out with King Crimson members Tony Levin and Pat Mastelotto teamed with Zappa alumni Mike Keneally and Austin trumpeter Ephraim Owens produced by Ronan Chris Murphy for DIW/Diskunion Japan. Oteri has also hosted the Super Sessions, the worlds longest totally improvised jams with Levin, Mastelotto, Murphy, Stu Hamm, Jerry Marotta and many others.
