West Meets East: Cathy Segal-Garcia & Rebecca Parris at Ryles Jazz Club on June 17

Two Special Jazz Vocalists Unite once again!

Cathy Segal-Garcia was born and bred in Newton, MA. Her father was Mike Segal, a sax player and band leader, and mother Natalie had been a big band singer. Cathy's twin sisters, Margy and Edie, joined her in their youth singing and performing.

Attending Berklee 72-75, Cathy then settled in Los Angeles, where she still resides. Performer, recording artist (six CDs presently), voice teacher, producer, and composershe is known internationally and nationally for her artistic skills, velvety voice, and harmonic sensibilities!

Rebecca Parris, also growing up in Newton, befriended Cathy in Junior High School! They were singing together in a special jazz vocal group, The Greater Bostonians. Bostonians are no strangers to Rebecca. An award winning vocalist, born into a musical family, and having a career that has spanned internationally and nationally, known for her swinging and expertise, teaching, and Lyric deliveryRebecca has 10 recordings to date.

On Thursday, June 17, 2010, 8:30pm to 12:00am, Cathy and Rebecca will join musical forces for a unique performance at Ryles Jazz Club in Inman Square. Joining them in their musical adventures will be the brilliant and adventurous Mr. Cho Yoonseung on piano, Ms. Yang Jung Im on bass, and Mr. Lee Fish on drums!

Ryles Jazz Club is located on: 212 Hampshire Street, Cambridge, MA (617) 876-9330. There is a $12 cover charge. There are two complimentary parking lots marked S&S Parking and all major credit cards are accepted. No reservations required, but for this evening, it is definitely suggested!
