The afternoon will focus on 6/8 rhythms (Afro / Abaqua) and how Norman applies those rhythms to various commercial styles of music (ie. jazz, hip hop, and R&B). Hedman plans to highlight Hispanic Heritage Month. In addition, he will trace his African roots with respect to the music and show how it influenced him, while demonstrating percussive instruments and how he modifies them for unique sounds. A performance by Tropique wraps-up this fun-filled afternoon.
