New York, NY: Critically acclaimed jazz vocalist, Michelle Walker, will perform in concert at one of New York’s most exclusive jazz clubs Jazz at the Kitano in its widely adored lounge. Michelle will be performing a Pre-Valentine’s Day Show on Thursday February 13, 2014 with 8:00pm and 10:00pm Sets.

Michelle has spent the past few years amassing an international resume of concert and festival performances, including The Lincoln Center-Women in Jazz Festival, The Silver Spring Jazz Festival as well as international tours in Russia, England and Israel as a leader and guest vocalist.

Michelle is often compared to Cassandra Wilson, Nina Simone and Betty Carter in style and tone. She has opened in concert for Wynton Marsalis, Rene Marie, Terrell Stafford, Chris Botti, George Benson and Mark Murphy. Her arrangements of straight-ahead standards and contemporary pop tunes blend genres effortlessly and with an undeniable level of originality that is solidifying her own distinctive sound. Dave Nathan at All About Jazz says, Walker sings with “ an extraordinary degree of musicality."
