Born in Tanner, Alabama, smooth jazz saxophonist Dee Lucas is the youngest of four children. Surprisingly, no one in his family even knew he had a musical interest during his adolescent days because of his commitment to sports, particularly basketball. In fact Lucas, a 'true' self-taught musician, did not even pick up the sax until the age of 28. However, with self-reliance, determination, discipline, and unique musical style, Dee has reached a level of professional musicianship in a 'fast-track' manner that commands the respect from both listeners and musical peers. Never one to stop moving forward, his debut album was a tribute to George Howard titled “Remembrance," and was released and distributed nationally in 2004 from his record label imprint, Mo Better Recordings; receiving top national and internet radio airplay from over 115 radio stations across the nation.
