In the summer of 1999, pianist Tommy Flanagan appeared at the Jazz Baltica Festival—held on the grounds of the Salzau Palace near Kiel, Germany, and a few miles from the Baltic Sea. With Flanagan were Lewis Nash on drums and Peter Washington on bass, with appearances by Bobby Hutcherson on vibes and Johnny Griffin on tenor sax.
