TIPTONS SAX QUARTET East Coast Tour

Through the years, the Tiptons have developed a rich & unparalleled sound for sax, voice and drums. They play high-energy and soulful world music, ranging from Latin to African, Eastern European to New Orleans-style second line, all thrown into the mix of mainly original material. They have toured festivals in Europe and the U.S. for 16 years, and have released CDs on Knitting Factory, New World Records, No Man's Land, and on their own Zipa! / Spoot Music record label. Their dynamic, playful concerts are not to be missed!

The Tiptons are available for interviews & playing live on the radio.

Press Quotes:

“The Tiptons are one of my very favorite bands these days. Beautiful arrangements that are both funky and swinging, amazing solos, and, increasingly, incredibly beautiful vocalizing. They range far over the map in terms of their interests, but wherever they alight, there's something moving, strange, beautiful, and new. No one else surprises me as much and with such stunning musicality."
Rick Moody, author of The Ice Storm

“... Minute precision, solid arrangements, an excellent control of dynamics, a multi-stylized repertoire, and sparkling execution. ...(and) their unique singing style creates shapes and timbres that move into experimental jazz. It is truly a beautiful lesson of what is vital in jazz, inviting, crossing genres, filled with radical thought that can be maintained without losing its tenderness."
--Flavio Massarutto, ll Gazzettino

“... entrancing beats with luscious tones and harmony stacks big enough to climb."
--All About Jazz: Seattle.

“Looser than the 29th Street, more in than out as ROVA, and hipper than World, this sax quartet is a groove."
--Mark Corroto, All About Jazz
