Ottawa - “Tremendous, just tremendous," said David Letterman after Sharon Jones and the Dap-Kings' performance on his show. The TD Ottawa International Jazz Festival is delighted to add the renowned group to the Festival's star-studded Concert Under the Stars line-up on July 4, 9pm on the Main Stage at Confederation Park.

Steeped within the gilded and gritty sounds of gospel, soul and funk, this nine-piece Brooklyn collective continues to electrify fans, disc jockeys, critics, record collectors, and bloggers the world-over with their authentic, heart-felt sound. They have released four albums in total and show no signs of slowing down.

They are celebrated internationally for their incredible live shows, not to mention their relentless touring. The band continues to pack hundreds of clubs worldwide in legendary venues like New York's Apollo Theater.

Performances by Kellylee Evans (at 6pm as part of the Great Canadian series), Richard Bona (the opening Concert Under the Stars act at 7:30pm), and Sharon Jones and the Dap-Kings on the last day of the Festival will bring the celebrations of the 30th anniversary to a resounding close. But the music won't end there. The final Late Night Jam sessions will take place at the Crowne Plaza Hotel later that evening at the 101 Lounge (101 Lyon Street) at 10:30pm.
