Jazz in Arizona Inc., a 501(c)(3) organization, is seeking a full-time Managing Director. Jazz in Arizona owns and operates The Nash, a world-class performance and education venue located in the heart of one of America’s most vibrant arts districts, Roosevelt Row, in Phoenix, AZ. The mission of Jazz in Arizona is to celebrate the rich tradition and ongoing innovation of jazz by presenting quality live performances, providing unique educational programs and building a vibrant jazz community.
The Managing Director is the key leader of Jazz in Arizona, Inc., responsible for overseeing all administrative functions including day-to-day policy and operations, finance, fundraising, marketing, human resources, programs, communications, community engagement and the organization’s strategic plan. The Managing Director reports directly to the Board of Directors.
Applicants must have a minimum of a Bachelor’s Degree in Business or an Arts field, ideally in music or arts administration; direct experience in arts administration and/or small business management; experience working with or serving on non-profit or for-profit organization boards; be technologically savvy; have general management, fundraising and marketing skills, the ability to work a flexible schedule and a personal connection with the organization’s mission, the arts, and a familiarity with jazz.
