NEW HEADLINER ADDED TO STAR-STUDDED LINE-UP
Bell Biv DeVoe is made up of New Edition members, Ricky Bell, Michael Bivins, and Ronnie DeVoe. In 1988 the trio (minus Bobby Brown) gave in to the urgings of producers Jimmy Jam and Terry Lewis and produced its debut album. The results were quite unlike anything in New Edition's repertoire: The beats were funkier, the lyrics and vocals were sexier, and the overall sound had a harder, hip-hop-tinged edge. The album's title track, Poison," became a number three smash, and it was followed by the equally successful Do Me!" and the R&B hits B.B.D. (I Thought it Was Me)," When Will I See You Smile Again?," and Dope!" The album itself went on to sell over three million copies and was followed by a remix album the next year. Hootie Mack, Bell Biv DeVoe's second proper album, was released in 1993.

STEPPIN' OUT WITH THE STARS TALENT SHOWCASE
Dimock Community Health Center launched its 2005 Steppin’ Out Gala with the first annual “Steppin’ Out with the Stars” amateur jazz competition. Hosted at Boston’s famous Scullers Jazz Club, the winning performers will join national headliners on the entertainment line-up at “Steppin’ Out for Dimock,” Boston’s premier jazz event and fundraiser. This year’s talent showcase finals pitted three local jazz ensembles in a head-to-head music show-down, which was judged “American Idol” style by a panel of local celebrities and musicians. After each group played a short set, they were critiqued by the judges, and then the winner was decided by majority vote. This year’s winner, Jazz Report, will go on to join the stars at the Steppin’ Out Gala.
Jazz Report members: Chris Brown, Leo Stevens, Jason Miele, Toby Stein, Michael Maelson
JAZZ REPORT WILL BE PERFORMING AT THE HI HIT CLUB AT STEPPIN' OUT 2005
