Monday, April 5th: The Artists Formerly Known as Jazzheads

featuring:

Ari Hoenig [drums]
Tim Motzer [guitars]
Chris Cuzme [saxophone]
Ben Bocardo [bass]

Jazzheads, the band, featuring master rhythmatist Ari Hoenig, Philly guitarist Tim Motzer, saxophonist/brewer Chris Cuzme, and bassist Ben Bocardo blazed trails early on with collisions of jazz-funk, drumnbass, and world music. Reunited after a 10 year hiatus, the band still mixes it up and causes sparks to fly with a super fun organic loose post jazz-funk improv compost...dig! Currently working on material for their next album- the follow up to award winning Avant Wot Not available on 1k recording, these guys are sure to satisfy. Bring your dancing gear!

Ari Hoenig is a young drum master based in Brooklyn, NY. He has appeared with the likes of Chris Potter, Kurt Rosenwinkel, Joshua Redman, Richard Bona, Pat Martino and many more. His records The Painter and Kinetic Hues have been met with extensive acclaim, as has his Dreyfus Records release Inversations and his two self produced solo drum records Time Travels and The Life of a Day, representing an ambitious tribute to the melodic possibilities of the drum set.

The LOOVE is a series initiated by Josh Roseman's Scrootable Labs with Search and Restore & the team at Coco 66, promoting progressive improv in North Brooklyn.

Coco 66 is located at 66 Greenpoint Ave (at Franklin St) Brooklyn, NY Music running from 8pm-12midnight
