This Sunday's broadcast of radio program Reeds & Deeds II on WECB will feature exclusive, rare, and in some cases, never before heard tunes from jazz legend John Coltrane. Live performances from Penn State 1963, Paris 1961, outtakes from Coltrane's 1965 “Sun Ship" sessions with McCoy Tyner, Jimmy Garrison, and Elvin Jones, as well as the only live recording of the complete “A Love Supreme" are among the featured tracks. Lydia Liebman will be hosting the broadcast from 6 to 8 pm on April 10, 2011.

“Reeds & Deeds II" is broadcast on WECB Online Radio from Emerson College in Boston, Massachusetts. It is hosted by Lydia Liebman, a musician studying at Emerson and Berklee College of Music. Bringing jazz beyond the college campus, Liebman's weekly Sunday evening broadcasts include a mix of tunes from new releases, rare recordings, book readings, current tour updates and exclusive interviews with current jazz musicians. This season, Liebman has interviewed musicians such as Saxophone Summit, Gregory Porter, Somi and George Garzone, among others as well as featured The Mario Castro Quintet as in studio performers.

Later this month, Lydia Liebman plans to interview saxophonist Joe Lovano and feature another in studio group from Berklee College of Music- the chosen group to be announced soon. More information about “Reeds & Deeds II" can be found on Facebook under the name “Reeds and Deeds II on WECB Hosted by Lydia Liebman" and on Twitter under ReedsandDeedsII.
