The George Gee Big Band and GJazz Records is happy to announce two very special swingin' jazz events to celebrate the release of their new CD recording - “Settin' the Pace" - featuring the music of Big Band maestro Frank Foster. This recording project was conducted under the watchful guidance of Frank Foster this past April, right after a SRO evening at Birdland and highlights many of Frank's big band arrangements that have never been recorded in the past. Returning to Birdland on Monday, September 27th at 8pm for one set only - The George Gee Big Band will be performing much of the music on “Settin' the Pace," along with Grammy nominee vocalist Carla Cook. There will be a $20 admission and $10 minimum at this ultimate NYC jazz club for this special event.

Then on Friday, October 1st - not to ignore the 17 piece Big Band's large and loyal lindyhop following - a special dance event In collaboration with Jelly Roll Productions www.JellyRollProductions.org ) ) will be at Il Campanello Restaurant starting at 9pm. With plenty of room to dance and a classic NYC nightclub setting, this promises to be another swingin' night to the music of Frank Foster! There will be a $15 admission and the new CD will be offered at a special “Release Party" discount only at these two performances.
