Press Release Sept. 2005
Hell’s Kitchen Club Siberia presents: “The Fluid Trio featuring George Garzone”
Hell’s Kitchen is still thriving with artists pushing the boundaries of the mind and music. “Siberia”…. (Voted as a top Hell’s Kitchen Late Night Hang….) is hosting a free-jazz group featuring the legendary saxophonist George Garzone. The group aptly named, “The Fluid Trio”, is lead by guitarist and Garzone protégé Christopher Crocco. Rounding out the ensemble on drums is Francisco Mela, currently performing with Joe Lovano’s “Street Band”.
The trio’s fluidity comes from the constant sense of time and absolute harmonic control, all attained in a bassless context. Siberia, which is known to host mainly avant-garde rock acts, is a perfect venue for this trio’s energy level. No stuffy chardonnay jazz, and absolutely no pre-conceived notions of what to expect. Opening the dark door, with only a red light to know that you’ve entered Siberia, you’re ready to see a group blow with amazing energy…. the way you would expect in Hell’s Kitchen and New York of Old!
The show begins at 9:00 p.m. Thursday September 29th, 2005. $5 cover. Siberia is located at 356 West 40th Street. (Black door/Red Light) Information contact Christopher Crocco at 212-563-0451 or [email protected].
