Tallinn international Festival Jazzkaar offers 50 colorful concerts in 13 places over Estonia from 20th to 28th of April, 32 of them in Estonian capital Tallinn.

The highlights of the 18th festival Jazzkaar are one of the top vocalists Andy Bey, guitar virtuoso Mike Stern, sax legend/bandleader and composer Archie Shepp from the USA, Incognito - the popular band from British clubs, and from Spain a flamenco group of new generation Ojos de Brujo, who's music unites tradition and modern day.

This time Jazzkaar's span goes from Brazil to Australia. Singer/pianist/composer Marcos Valle songs are sung by many Brazilian stars as well as they sound in new performances in the clubs of New York and London. Australian jazz is represented by award-winning and sparkling improviser Michelle Nicole.

One of the keywords of Jazzkaar is cooperation - the language of jazz knows no limits. The more interesting personalities and artists from far-away lands make music together, the more surprising outcomes can be expected. Thus give concerts together stars from Norway Jan Gunnar Hoff Group and American guitar virtuoso Mike Stern, Japanese Aki Takase and German top-musicians, Archie Shepp and French singer Mina Agossi, Italian drummer Andrea Marcelli and Finnish-Estonian musicians, Raivo Tafenau with Polish and Lithuanian artists, Villu Veski with Italian, Brazilian and Latvian musicians and many others.

Every Jazzkaar day has a meaning. Opening Day is followed by Arts Saturday, then Holy Sunday when you can listen to jazz-mass from Vox Clamantis and Villu Veski Trio and wonderful interpretations of spirituals by Norwegian Kristin Asbjrnsen. On French Monday the Estonian Drama Theatre stage is conquered by all-stars octet New Lousadzak and Jean Francois Baez Trio. Latvian, Lithuanian and Estonian young artists make music on Baltic Tuesday. The musicians from Three Continents get together on Wednesday. Human voice is the king of Singing Thursday and on Stars Friday performs jazz ambassador Archie Shepp, who will also present the first Estonian Jazz Awards. Different Dreams Saturday ends the festival with warm Brazilian and French urban rhythms.

Estonian musicians give 25 concerts during Jazzkaar, where you can hear a lot of new and exciting Estonian music. Let us also remind that 40 years has passed from the legendary festival Tallinn '67, which ended one period in the history of Estonian jazz festivals.

On the press conference on 21st of February Jazzkaar signed a contract with Elion - the Golden Sponsor of 2007. Elion supports Jazzkaar's year-round concert-activities. Sokos Hotel Viru, Eesti Pevaleht and Eesti Raadio continue as the festivals longest main supporters. Importatnt sponsors are also the City of Tallinn, Cultural Department of Estonia and Kultuurkapital. Festival is also supported by many embassies.

The first Jazz Appreciation Month events in Estonia culminate with Jazzkaar. Festival tickets are on sale from 21st of February at Piletimaailm and Piletilevi.
