As LINER NOTES enters its fourth season in July, I am making an appeal for funding in order to keep it going. I ask you to click here to watch a short video explaining the situation and the motivation for this appeal. I am passionate about LINER NOTES, a podcast that I started in 2018. It features unstructured conversations with some of this era’s most influential creative improvising musicians.

The show has recently lost one of its major sources of its funding, so I am reaching out to you, the community in seeking support. The episodes especially in the last year and a half have been powerful as they are documenting how musicians are coping with the pandemic along with the racial and political turmoil that is defining this era. If you have enjoyed any of the episodes and would like to hear them continue, I humbly ask that you consider financially supporting LINER NOTES.

Thank you for your consideration.

LINER NOTES Guest List Since 2018

LINER NOTES is a podcast that provides a jazz artist with a platform to speak about their process while giving the listener a window into the human being behind the music. Hosted by saxophonist David Bixler. LINER NOTES was initially conceived of to fulfill a gap in jazz education as well as to shine a light on artists that are working hard to produce great music. Each month David Bixler interviews a different jazz artist to discuss their music, career, and life—information that formerly was found on the backs of album covers and in the notes of CDs but is sometimes hard to find in the era of downloadable and streamed music.

All About Jazz needs your support

All About Jazz & Jazz Near You were built to promote jazz music: both recorded albums and live events. We rely primarily on venues, festivals and musicians to promote their events through our platform. With club closures, limited reopenings and an uncertain future, we've pivoted our platform to collect, promote and broadcast livestream concerts to support our jazz musician friends. This is a significant but neccesary step that will help musicians and venues now, and in the future. You can help offset the cost of this essential undertaking by making a donation today. In return, we'll deliver an ad-free experience (which includes hiding the sticky footer ad). Thank you!
