Sunset Jazz Festival Heats Up With Violinist Ken Ford

The popular Sunset Jazz Festival at Southland will kick off an exciting evening of smooth jazz at 7:45 p.m., on Friday, August 18, at Southland Country Club in Stone Mountain, Ga., with Ken Ford and Harley Griffin.

Ford, an accomplished jazz violinist, has opened for a stellar list of artists including Boney James, Norman Brown, Kirk Whalum and D'Angelo - showcasing his trademark electrifying performance. Ford has also shared the stage with artists such as Roy Ayers, Rachelle Farrell, Jonathan Butler and Mike Phillips. His sophomore CD release, Chevelle Lane, captures the essence of Ford's musical genius. Joining Ford at Sunset Jazz Festival is Harley Griffin, a smooth vocalist in the tradition of Luther Vandross and Frankie Beverly.

Tickets for the outdoor concert are $20 (general admission lawn seating - lawn chairs, picnic basket and coolers welcome) and $40 (VIP table seating includes a complimentary heavy hor d'oeurve buffet and wine bar).
