Steven Bernstein's Millennial Territory Orchestra will be taking over from Butch Morris on Sunday's in March at Bowery Poetry Club. Rooted in the early jazz bands of the 20's and 30's and living in the present, the band celebrates traditional American music, revisting the sounds of Cecil Scott, McKinney's Cotton Pickers, Andy Kirk, Prince, Stevie Wonder and more.

Steven Bernstein- trumpet

Clark Gayton- trombone

Charlie Burnham- violin

Doug Wieselman- clarinet

Peter Apfelbaum- tenor saxophone

Erik Lawrence- baritone saxophone

Matt Munesteri- guitar, vocals

Brad Jones- bass

Ben Perowsky- drums

In a recent Village Voice story, Gary Giddins enthused, “...this music is so much fun it can hardly contain itself," while Ben Ratliff of The New York Times noted, “ the rowdy, kinetic spirit of the band" in a recent live show review at Jazz Standard.
