Steve Wilson prepares for multi-night tribute to Joe Zawinul at the Jazz Standard in NYC, December 17-20, 2009.

Wilson appeared on THE CW NETWORK/WGN TV yesterday--the live appearance aired on over 200 stations nationwide, including in Chicago, New York, Boston, Los Angeles, and elsewhere.

STEVE WILSON ENSEMBLE (Thursday) Mr. Wilson is an endlessly adaptable alto and soprano saxophonist, at home in myriad settings. This one honors the keyboardist-composer Joe Zawinul, one of the architects of fusion, with a sharp young band that features Jeremy Pelt on trumpet, Danny Grissett on piano, Ugonna Okegwo on bass and (Lewis Nash -edit) on drums.
