Starry Nights presents live jazz at the Rose Center for Earth and Space with some of the world’s greatest jazz musicians. Visitors to Starry Nights, which is presented the first Friday of every month, enjoy tapas and beverages along with the music.

Saxophonist, Virginia Mayhew has been a part of the New York jazz scene for the past 17 years. After coming to New York in 1987, Mayhew enrolled in the New School’s Jazz Performance program, where she was awarded its Zoot Sims Memorial Scholarship. Since her arrival, she has worked with such renowned artists as Norman Simmons, Toshiko Akiyoshi, Joe Williams, and many others. “Four stars…a fresh, intelligent, polished player…Virginia Mayhew, remember her name.” —Downbeat

The Rose Center is open until 8:45 p.m. on Friday evenings. The Museum’s suggested admission of $12.00 for adults, $9.00 for students and seniors, and $7.00 for children covers entry to the Museum and to Starry Nights. Admission to the Museum and the Space Show—The Search for Life: Are We Alone?—is $21.00 for adults, $15.50 for students and seniors, and $12.50 for children.
