The Duke Ellington Jazz Festival Presents:

The Sonny Fortune Quartet
Twins Jazz
Washington, DC
Saturday, October 4, 2008
9pm & 11pm

Legendary saxophonist Sonny Fortune embodies all the finest qualities of other great artists: hard work, dedication to his art, and exceptional music. CBS's TV's 48 Hours with Dan Rather id a feature on Sonny, and he also was the subject of a recent CBS Sunday Morning feature with Dr. Billy Taylor. He was also featured soloist on the soundtrack for the Jack Nicholson film, The Crossing Guard. His CD You and the Night and the Music spent three weeks at No. 2 on JazzWeek and three months in the Top 20. Joining Sonny will be Bob Butta on piano, James King on Bass, and Nasar Abadey on drums.

All About Jazz needs your support

All About Jazz & Jazz Near You were built to promote jazz music: both recorded and live events. We rely primarily on venues, festivals and musicians to promote their events through our platform. With club closures, shelter in place and an uncertain future, we've pivoted our platform to collect, promote and broadcast livestream concerts to support our jazz musician friends. This is a significant but neccesary effort that will help musicians now, and in the future. You can help offset the cost of this essential undertaking by making a donation today. In return, we'll deliver an ad-free experience (which includes hiding the bottom right video ad). Thank you.
