Since her move to America in 2005, Singapore's 1st and only diva of the theremin; Shueh-li Ong, has made delicate but indelible steps into the world of popular music. Her sound has been described by some as electronic-jazz-fusion-pop, and by others; sophisticated east meets west. Her work as composer, producer and entertainer has been picked up for mention by Electronic Musician magazine, ThereminVox Italy, USAprogmusic, Synth Music & Electronics, Arts Monthly Australia, and Business Times Singapore, to name a few.

Shueh-li was born in Australia where she studied Classical music performance and music technology. Managing to juxtapose this training with her Austral-Asian background into her work, this Moog endorsed thereminist has consistently made beautiful music by coaxing the quixotic sci-fi instrument, rustic tin-whistle, artful guqin, and an expert handful of electronics into a blissful marriage. Then she sings ... If you are wondering what really goes on inside that petite mind of hers, you need wonder no more. On April 27, 2011, from 5 to 7pm Pacific Time, Jack Hertz of Time Drone will host, a Q&A session and live performance with Shueh-li from her studio in Nashville.
