Sean O'Bryan Smith and Tapestry continue to weave their way into the Jazz World

Since Sean O'Bryan Smith's April release of his first solo CD Tapestry, reviews and radio come in praising the freshman effort on a daily basis. A recent review from Jazz.com's Walter Kolosky reads “Smith is a top-notch composer and an even better bassist. Tapestry, both title tune and album, contains strong melodies and is expertly performed." Robert Silverstein of 20th Century Guitar Magazine also commented “Upbeat instrumental fusion, with just the right touch of drama and zest, Tapestry is a great CD to keep the party going."

These same sentiments are echoed with radio stations all over the world including John Louis of WWSP in Stevens Point, Wisconsin when he revealed “His artistry as a bass player and producer are difficult to match. Smith's “Tapestry" is truly a wonderful collection of imagery from a very solid artist."and Chris Maley of KMBH in Harlingen, TX said “Already in rotation, groovy, funky....soulful! Alot comes across my desk...and this is real!"

Sean's high regard as an artist has led to a number of recordings and performances with some of the jazz world's top artists. He recently recorded with smooth jazz icon Rick Braun for the upcoming holiday release with Transfer Records recording artist Anna Wilson. Sean is a featured artist on the CD “Yule Swing" along with Braun and a host of other top session musicians. Anna Wilson's “Yule Swing" is due to be released later this Fall. Sean has also recently been spotted collaborating and performing live with the #4 smooth jazz artist in the country Denny Jiosa. Smith and Jiosa are in negotiations for a number of future dual bill performances as well as future recording projects. Details are TBA.

You can pick up your copy of Tapestry at CDbaby, iTunes, Napster, Target.com, eMusic and more. Remember to call your favorite jazz station and request Sean O'Bryan Smith.
