Jazz Bridge in Collingswood! presents legendary veteran saxophonist Sam Reed and his group on December 5th at the Collingswood Community Center, 30 Collings Avenue in Collingswood, New Jersey. Tickets are $10, $5 for students, and are available only at the door. Show time is 7:30.

It would be enough to ensure the legendary status of saxophonist Sam Reed to say that he did, in fact, play with the celebrated Charlie Parker. Since those early days, Reed has played with dozens of renowned artists in jazz, pop, and R&B. His credits read like The Encyclopedia of Jazz, and those astounding credits include stints with Louis Armstrong, Sarah Vaughan, Billie Holiday, Lee Morgan, Nat King Cole and literally hundreds of others. Sam Reed's many fans and admirers thank goodness that, as a youngster, he gave up playing drums as a member of the American Legion Post in South Philadelphia, and switched to saxophone.
