Roman Miroshnichenko Nominated In The 16th Independent Music Awards

Winners will be announced at Lincoln Center for the Performing Arts in New York City on March 31st
Multi-Award winning guitarist, composer and bandleader Roman Miroshnichenko was among the nominees announced by the Music Resource Group (MRG) in the 16th annual Independent Music Awards (The IMAs), the influential honors for independent artists and releases. More than 400 innovative self-released and indie label projects culled from thousands of submissions worldwide, were nominated by fans and industry panelists in 96 Album, Song, EP, Music Producer, Music Video and Design categories.

The album, Ascension by guitar-virtuoso Roman Miroshnichenko has earned a nomination in the “Best Instrumental Album” category. The new album was released in October, 2017 and recorded with his long time band, which includes Val Chernook on drums and Oleg Kanakov on bass. Roman is also joined by special guests: Grammy-winning violinist Charlie Bisharat, famous Argentinian pianist Mario Parmisano, renown Floridian musicians Luis Alicea (drums) and Aron Ferre (keyboards), Danish virtuoso Henrik Andersen and world class percussionist Gumbi Ortiz.

Al Di Meola, the legendary guitarist, commented on the release: “Roman’s adventurous complex playing and songs take the listener on a tour de force journey. Carrying on with a great tradition of fusion well done!”

The album included an electric version of Roman’s Award-winning song Alien’s Dream, which was written for the latest project World Of Guitar Trio (15th IMA multiple winner) and is dedicated to one of the greatest guitar players of all time, Steve Vai, who very kindly responded to the new release: “Congratulations on your record! And thanks so much for the touching Alien’s Dream. It’s quite beautiful! I like music that has some rich changes and cool melody!”

Previous IMA Winners and Nominees including: George Benson, Jeff Healey, Larry Carlton, Meghan Trainor, Macy Gray, among many others; and influential press and talent buyers from the Americas, Europe and Pacific Rim.

Winners will be announced at Lincoln Center for the Performing Arts in New York City on March 31st.
