RKO Records, the iconic music home to jazz artists such as Herbie Fields, Westchester Jazz Ensemble, Herb Jeffries, Ted Lewis, Rudy Vallee, Orrin Tucker, and Muggsy Spanier, has just released “The Julie London Songbook." The album is performed by long time Las Vegas jazz singer Laura Shaffer in her debut album. It is currently available from I Tunes and 28 other music download services. A 24 carat gold limited number CD will follow in June and a collector vinyl version in July. Selected songs from the album can be previewed for free here

Laura Shaffer has been singing in major Las Vegas casinos for the past 20 years, including the Bellagio, MGM, Mandalay Bay, Aria, and Mirage. She is also the featured singer in the Bruce Harper Big Band.

“The Julie London Songbook" is not a tribute album but rather Laura Shaffer's take on twelve top Julie London songs, including 'Cry Me a River,' 'Go Slow,' 'Dont'cha Go 'Way Mad,' and 'Baby Won't You Please Come Home.' She is accompanied by the top Las Vegas musicians including legendary pianist Charlie Shaffer, drummer Bruce Harper, and sax man Arno Marsh, as well as several other top Vegas musicians.
