27-YEARS OLD SINGING SENSATION PASSES

Gifted but deeply troubled pop-soul singer Amy Winehouse was found dead in her London home today. At this stage, the police are calling her death “unexplained" and an investigation is underway. After making a critical splash with her 2003 debut, Frank, in the U.K., Winehouse became a worldwide sensation with 2006's Back To Black, catapulted to omnipresence by her hit “Rehab." Her record label, Universal, released a statement today that read in part, “We are deeply saddened at the sudden loss of such a gifted musician, artist and performer." Beyond her headline grabbing behavior, Winehouse will be remembered for helping spawn a revival of interest in classic R&B and for how brightly her gifts shown in the short time she spent with us.
