Independent music group Concord Bicycle Music and the co-founders of touchstone indie label Razor and Tie, Cliff Chenfeld and Craig Balsam, have formed a new joint venture, Razor & Tie Enterprises.

Under the terms of the new worldwide agreement, Concord Bicycle Music will acquire a significant stake in the new company, administer Razor & Tie Music Publishing and support the further expansion of the Razor & Ties Kidz Bop brand. Concord Bicycle will provide these services through both its publishing division, Bicycle Music, and its recorded music division, Concord Music Group.

The transaction follows Concord Bicycle's joint venture with Tom Whalley's Loma Vista Records label in 2014, and the recent acquisition of indie labels Fearless and Wind-up.

Razor & Tie founders Cliff Chenfeld and Craig Balsam will continue as co-CEOs of the new company, based out of their Greenwich Village offices.    Since its formation in 1990, Razor & Tie has been one of the most successful privately owned independent music labels and publishing companies in North America. The company's roster includes established and developing artists such as The Pretty Reckless, All That Remains, Starset, The Sword and Red Sun Rising to name a few.

Additionally, Razor & Tie created and owns the #1 kids music brand KidzBop. The audio series has sold over 15 million albums since its debut in 2001 and has expanded significantly to include a national tour and  SiriusXM channel.
