With a warm and velvet voice on her latest album, Quarantine Covers (self-produced and released December 19, 2020) international singer-songwriter and touring artist Valentina Marino reimagines, rearranges and reinterprets songs by her favorite artists, such as Leonard Cohen, Bob Dylan, Joni Mitchell, Alice Merton, Lucio Battisti and Gotye.

While still deeply rooted in jazz, this album marks Marino’s transition into new territories of pop and crossover. The story line behind the songs is captivating and Marino’s band and arrangements are remarkable: a journey across the oceans of Love and Life through their seasons of death and rebirth, narrated by electric and acoustic sounds. “Metaphorically," says Marino, “the songs also mirror the cycles we are going through during this pandemic. My wish is that life and Music can start again stronger and brighter than before, after this challenging chapter of interruption and separation."

Quarantine Covers is an extremely interesting and sophisticated record, also a prelude to Marino’s upcoming new album East 75th, a collection of all original songs, ready to be released in the US and in Europe this year.

All About Jazz & Jazz Near You were built to promote jazz music: both recorded albums and live events. We rely primarily on venues, festivals and musicians to promote their events through our platform. With club closures, limited reopenings and an uncertain future, we've pivoted our platform to collect, promote and broadcast livestream concerts to support our jazz musician friends. This is a significant but neccesary step that will help musicians and venues now, and in the future. You can help offset the cost of this essential undertaking by making a donation today. In return, we'll deliver an ad-free experience (which includes hiding the sticky footer ad). Thank you!
