Prince Tour?

WHERE? WHEN? WHO'S YOUR TAILOR? WHY NO APOLLONIA REUNION?

The biggest musical star without an official website held a press conference at the Apollo Theatre in Harlem yesterday to sort of announce a new tour project called Welcome To America, over which his five-foot-nothing Purple Majesty would reign as MC and central attraction. However, Prince didn't care to share any dates, venues or other juicy specifics beyond a list of potential collaborators, including Maceo Parker, Janelle Monae, Mint Condition, Esperanza Spalding, Cassandra Wilson, Lalah Hathaway and Sheila E, and that his band the New Power Generation would perform nightly.

Conflicting reports with “details" have sprung up all over that medium Prince recently proclaimed dead. Until there's some an official announcement of some sort, some locked in dates via ticket outlets, etc. we'll refrain from feeding the rumor mill. However, we really like the idea of Prince hitting the road again and hope it comes to fruition.

There are new musical stirrings in the studio for Prince as well. Earlier this year he released the album 20Ten through newspapers in Europe, and at the press conference he debuted a new single called “Rich Friends."

Prince will perform a handful of dates in Europe in the latter half of October and early November.
