The highly praised composer/ arranger/ producer and multi-instrumentalist returns with a talented group of musicians



Peekskill, NY -- Internationally acclaimed composer, arranger, producer and accomplished multi-instrumentalist Premik Russell Tubbs returns to the BeanRunner Caf with his “Friends” on Saturday, August 1st h at 8:00pm, Premik, who has worked with an impressive list of music greats including Carlos Santana, Whitney Houston, Herbie Hancock, Jackson Brown and others, will perform with the talented composer/pianist, Eric Johnson and, on acoustic bass, Nathan Peck and the accomplished percussionist /drummer/ Rich Stein…and other special guest players. Premik, an acclaimed composer, arranger, producer and accomplished multi-instrumentalist, was born Russell Wayne Tubbs in Croton-on-Hudson, New York. He performs on various flutes, soprano, alto and tenor saxophones, Akai EWI and Yamaha WX7 wind synthesizers, and lap steel guitar, has worked with everyone from Carlos Santana, Whitney Houston, Herbie Hancock, John McLaughlin, Ravi Shankar, Narada Michael Walden, Clarence Clemons, Jackson Browne, Jean-Luc Ponty, Lonnie Liston-Smith, Sting, Billy Joel, and James Taylor. During his 2008 schedule, he played at Sting’s Rainforest Concert at Carnegie Hall and toured with Russian legend Boris Grebenshikov beginning in London at the Royal Albert Hall and continuing on to Dublin, Kiev, Milan, Moscow, St. Petersburg, and ending the year in Vienna. Premik is a longstanding member of Carman Moore's Skymusic Ensemble, performing Moore’s epic work Mass for the 21st Century as part of Lincoln Center’s Out-Of-Doors concert series. Premik will soon be featured in Moore's latest work, Concerto for Saxophone and Orchestra, which in its world premier will also feature Ornette Coleman as guest soloist. He is scheduled to play the Narada Michael Walden Foundation’s Let the Sunshine In concert later this month. The style of his music is best described as jazz with world/global flavor and a touch of classical somehow melted in.



Eric Johnson will be on keys and keyboard. Eric’s musical career has spanned 35 yrs. performing with such diverse artists as Mountain, Sam Rivers, Leroy Jenkins, L. Subramaniam, Bo Didley, Robert Palmer, NYC Opera, Houston Grand Opera, Brooklyn Philharmonic, Skymusic, Bill T. Jones, Alvin Ailey and the National Ballet of Italy. His compositions have been performed at the “American Music Festival" in Geneva, La Scala and Lincoln Center. Eric Johnson's Film and TV credits include documentaries for PBS and Channel Five, “School Daze", “Storm King", “The Undertaker" and HBO specials. He has been a member of ASCAP since 1976 and is in Whos Who of American Composers.



Rich Stein on percussion. Rich began his life-long fascination with percussion at the age of ten. While at the Berklee College of Music he focused much on the traditional drumming styles of West Africa (primarily Ghana), and contemporary frame drumming techniques. He has shared the stage with many well-known artists performing in many of the worlds premiere concert halls and events including the Royal Albert Hall, Carnegie Hall, the Royal Festival Hall, the Kennedy Center for the Performing Arts, the United Nations Headquarters, Naradha Gana Sabha, and the Kodak Theater.



Nathan Peck on acoustic bass. Since moving to New York City in 2002, Nathan has had the privilege to perform with artists such as Mark Murphy, Maria Muldaur, Bonnie Tyler, Vernon Reed, James Wlliams, Ralf Lalama, Lafayette Harris, Joel Frahm, Roy Campbell, Jonathan Kreisberg, Bruce Cox, Allison Miller, Ari Hoenig, and is currently touring/recording with guitarist Alex Skolnick. He also toured with Mr. Skolnick throughout the US, Canada, and Europe and is also on Skolnicks current release, Last Day In Paradise (Magna-Carta records).
