Premik Russell Tubbs & Friends, an Evening of World Beat & East-West Improvisations

Adam Klipple will be on keys and piano. Enough can not be said about Adam as his innate intuitive music sense coupled with astounding skill is something you wont forget. He has been described as a standout pianist who has gone to school on McCoy Tyner and Cecil Taylor and earned his degree." He plays piano, Hammond organ, sampler and a variety of vintage keyboards. Nathan Peck on acoustic bass will entertain and astound as he demonstrates the breadth of this instruments voice. Speaking of voice, Nathan haunting own voice will add depth to whatever is played as he throws in spontaneous harmonies in complement. As background, the winter 2008, Nathan toured Central America and the Caribbean with the Kelly Johnson Quartet as part of Lincoln Centers American Music Abroad Program. In the spring of 2009 he toured Germany, Austria and the Czech Republic with the fusion trio, Phishbacher led by pianist and composer Walter Fischbacher. Currently based in Queens, New York, he is a fulltime musician and leads his own band, The Spankray Funk Band. He has performed in NYC at the Blue Note, Knitting Factory, Smoke, Iridium, The Zinc Bar, Cleopatra's Needle,55 Bar, Lenox Lounge, Deer Head Inn, Joes Pub, Barbes, Kenny's Castaways, Arthurs Tavern, Village Underground and others. Rich Stein on drums and percussions will keep things interesting as he reaches for different sounds creating rhythms and textures that will surprise adding amazing creative energy to this night. Raised in Virginia Beach, Rich began his study of percussion at the age of ten. He went on to study at the Berklee College of Music in Boston, where his love for hand percussion was ignited by the great master drummers. Through a music internship program at Berkley Rich was given the great opportunity to travel and study in Ghana, West Africa with Ewe master drummer and dancer Emmanuel Agbeli, Dagomba, master drummer Abubakari Lunna, and Ga master drummer Shamsuddin Adeji. Since graduating Rich has traveled all over the world, most notably to perform and study in and around India with the world renowned mdrangam player Sri Karaikud Mani. Rich Stein

And on viola will be the incredible Lev Ljova Zhurbin, a violist, was born in 1978 in Moscow, Russia, and moved to New York with his parents in 1990. A graduate of The Juilliard School, he arranges music for Yo-Yo Ma, the Kronos Quartet, Jay-Z and others; and composing original music for film, TV, theatre and the concert stage. Ljova is the author of more than 70 compositions for classical, jazz, and folk ensembles, as well as scores to four features and over a dozen short films. His music has been licensed by HBO, PBS, BBC, CNBC, and NHK networks, among many other independent projects. Lev Ljova Zhurbin

Premik Russell Tubbs an accomplished multi-instrumentalist will be on saxophones, EWI, flutes & lap steel guitar. The 2008 and 20010 schedule had him playing Stings Rainforest Concert at Carnegie Hall. in 2008 he did extensive touring with Boris Grebenshikov beginning in London at the Royal Albert Hall, continuing on to Dublin, Kiev, Milan, Moscow, St. Petersburg, ending the year in Vienna. May of 2009 brought Premik to California for the Narada Michael Walden Foundation, Let the Sunshine In benefit concert. Premik has worked with Carlos Santana, Whitney Houston, Herbie Hancock, John McLaughlin, Ravi Shankar, Narada Michael Walden, Jean-Luc Ponty, Clarence Clemons, Jackson Browne, Lonnie Liston-Smith, Sting, Billy Joel and James Taylor, to name a few.
