“Perhaps the leading pianist of his generation"-Boston Globe

An “unerringly brilliant" pianist who has “helped define the serious mainstream of American jazz over the last two decades" (The New York Times), Mulgrew Miller had a childhood filled with early musical experiences. He focused on jazz after hearing a recording by Oscar Peterson, and today much of his playing has the same technical prowess. Early in his career, he performed with the Duke Ellington Orchestra, Art Blakey, Woody Shaw, Betty Carter, and Tony Williams. He plays with his own trio, which includes Derrick Hodge and Karriem Riggins. One of the most recorded pianists on the scene today, his latest albums are Live At Yoshi's Vol. 1(2004) and Vol. 2 (2005). Miller was recently named Director of Jazz Studies at William Paterson University.

“Mulgrew Miller is rapidly earning his place as one of America's most inventive and talented jazz pianists"-All About Jazz
