New York-based, Israeli jazz pianist-composer Guy Mintus has released the first single from his forthcoming album Connecting the Dots, entitled “Dalb." His full album is set for worldwide release on February 15, 2019, on France’s Jazz Family label.

Connecting the Dots touches on a broad variety of musical worlds and is a musical summation of Mintus’s ethnic and musical heritage, and his experiences and interests. The recording features bassist Dan Pappalardo and drummer Phillipe Lemm with guest appearances from jazz veteran Dave Liebman and Israeli vocalist Sivan Arbel.

Mintus has presented his music in Brazil, India, Turkey, throughout Europe, the US, and Canada, and has been commissioned to compose music by the American Composers Orchestra, Jerusalem Symphony Orchestra, Imani Winds Festival, Schwarz Foundation, among several others. He has also collaborated with an array of artists and groups including Jon Hendricks, Trilok Gurtu, Pastora Glavan, Maalem Hassan Benjaafer, the Afro-Latin Jazz Orchestra, and the Bavarian Philharmonic, and has received distinguished accolades such as the Prix du Public at the Montreux Jazz Festival’s solo piano competition, and the ASCAP Foundation Herb Alpert Young Jazz Composer and Leonard Bernstein awards.

Mintus was among the line-up for this year’s Winter JazzFest in New York and performed with his trio alongside Roopa Mahadevan. This April, he will lead his group on a European tour in support of his new album, followed by upcoming U.S. dates later in the spring.
