Philadelphia's University of the Arts Announces It's Large Jazz Ensemble Fall Concert Series

Thursday, October 19: The UArts Transfusion Ensemble, under the direction of Erik Johnson, revisits the music of U-2 with a fresh and highly creative jazz interpretation.

Thursday October 26: The UArts Big Band pays tribute to the high-energy big band music of jazz legends Buddy Rich and Maynard Ferguson, featuring performances by School of Music Director Marc Dicciani and faculty trumpeter Matt Gallagher. Directed by Matt Gallagher.

Monday October 30: The UArts Rick Kerber Tribute Big Band presents the timeless compositions and arrangements of jazz pioneer Thad Jones, with special guests, Vanguard Orchestra lead trumpeter & Philadelphia native Earl Gardner, and UArts faculty Bill Pusey and Randy Kapralick. Directed by Dennis Wasko.

All concerts will take place at the Levitt Auditorium in the Gershman Building at Broad and Pine Streets on the Avenue of the Arts in downtown Philadelphia.

Admission is FREE for all high school and college students with a student ID General admission for all others is $5 at the door
