Music can ignite the imagination and stir the soul. It’s a powerful, yet an intimate muse. Delicate harmonies, dancing melodies and enticing rhythms gently intertwine in vivid pictures of spontaneous memories. You find yourself drifting away, as you surrender to the essence of the moment.

This is the story of the musical journey of Close Up by pianist Patrizia Scascitelli. She takes you Close Up with passionate arrangements, rich textures and sophisticated styles. A musical architect, the compositions possess a very touchable approach. If you close your eyes, you will easily find yourself lost in entertaining tales and colorful characters.

Born in Rome, Scascitelli began playing music at eight years old. She went on to graduate in classical and jazz piano from the prestigious Conservatory St. Cecilia, where she studied with the musical elite. Later, she would collaborate with many well-known musicians in her native country. After moving to New York in the early 1980’s, Scascitelli would make a name for herself by performing with the likes of Don Cherry, Maxine Sullivan, Clifford Jordan, David “Fathead” Newman, Buster Williams, Charles McGhee and many others. This internationally respected musician has been included in various music encyclopedias, books and magazines.
