Pianist Pamela York and bassist Kristin Korb met in San Diego in 1996 and have enjoyed performing together ever since. These West Coast appearances will be a rare opportunity to hear the two combining their instrumental, vocal and compositional talents.

Canadian pianist Pamela York began her musical training at the age of eight in Nanaimo, BC. A graduate of the Royal Conservatory of Music in Toronto and Berklee College of Music, she has studied with Ray Santisi, Diana Krall and Donald Brown. Her debut recording “Blue York" has received outstanding reviews from jazz fans and critics alike. She is also in demand as a sideman, having performed and recorded with Conte Candoli, Joe LaBarbera, and John Clayton.

The L.A. Jazz Scene says, “Pamela York plays each melody with a singers' grace and vibrancy. She plays music rather than technique." Pamela was one of five finalists in the 2006 Mary Lou Williams Women in Jazz Piano Competition chosen to perform at the Kennedy Center in Washington DC. Her new CD will be released this fall.

Bassist/vocalist Kristin Korb tours internationally as a performer, clinician, and guest artist with numerous jazz ensembles. While studying privately with jazz bass icon Ray Brown, he arranged for her first recording with his trio, Introducing Kristin Korb, on Telarc Records. Her more current releases feature her original compositions and innovative arrangements of jazz standards with the help of jazz greats Mike Wofford and Jeff Hamilton. When she's not on the road with her trio, she's on the faculty at the University of Southern California.
