Opera in the Vineyards in Australia Oct. 20

Opera in the Vineyards will be held at the historic Wyndham Estate Winery, Hunter Valley on the 20th October 2007.

The event will be adopting the nom de plume “Ah la belle Paris!" with the theme “A night of romance" and to provide some appropriate French ambiance, popular Sydney musicians, Viva the duo will be performing with musette accordion and Spanish guitar at intervals throughout the day, commencing at 2.00am until 4.00pm at the entry gates and from 5.00pm at the Food and Wine Fair preceding the presentation of the opera at 6.00pm.

The duo will also be presenting an impromptu encore concert on stage at 8.30 after the opera performance.

The event features the fabulous opera singers: Teddy Tahu Rhodes and Amelia Farrugia, they will be performing arias and duets including: Bohme, Lakm, Carmen, The Pearl Fishers and Don Giovanni.

Niki Vasilakis, one of Australia's great and exciting Violinists will also be featured and Virginia Trioli from ABC radio 702 will be the compere for the evening.

Peppers Moonah Links Resort, will host a special gala concert accompanied by piano in a grand opera marquee and Wyndham Estate will present a concert with full orchestra in a magnificent open-air amphitheatre on the banks of the Hunter River with musical direction provided by one of Australia's finest musical directors, Andrew Greene.

Viva the duo are well known on the Sydney and interstate music scene and regularly perform at music festivals, Jazz Festivals, themed events and community street events. Their repertoire includes Jazz, “hep" Gypsy Jazz and Swing, Latin, Salsa, French, Spanish, Russian, Hungarian, Cuban and Classic show tunes.
