Benefits of Jazz Lessons - Online:
First, this is a brand new technology, and this is the first time in history something like this has been offered. Some people may not quite grasp the scope of exactly what is being offered here.
These are online jazz lessons. You get to learn jazz in the privacy of your own home, without lugging your instruments around or wasting a half hour two ways driving to see your teacher.
You get to learn at your own pace, in a 100% personalized manner. Ed will make suggestions about which areas you should work on, but for example, you wanted to focus on ear training, or accompaniment, you could do just that. Ed is there to propel you toward your own musical goals.
These lessons are live and in real-time. While you are in your space with your instrument, Ed is in his studio listening to you. You will have real-time conversations with him, getting feedback on your playing. The entire process is an extremely intimate experience.
This is NOT like those typical online college courses in which you simply do required reading and take online quizzes. It is personalized as though you are with Ed in person in his studio, despite being hundreds or even thousands of miles away. The lessons are a full hour long, and each one will bring you to a new level of skill and musical awareness.
The many students whom have already gotten in on this have made tremendous progress in their musical development.
His perfoming experience with jazz legends, as well as his studies in Western Art music, has enabled Ed to distill this knowledge into a powerful new approach to the teaching of improvisation: Linear Improvisation. It is a much more effective method than chordscale theory.
