Award Winning Vocalist Nicole Henry Returns to New York for the “Brooklyn Sings, Brooklyn Swings" Concert Series Thursday, September 22 at 7:00pm ____________________________________________

Nicole Henry will perform a concert as part of the “Brooklyn Sings, Brooklyn Swings" Concert Series in the Brooklyn Public Library, 1 Grand Army Plaza, on Thursday, September 22 at 7:00pm. Making use of the library's 7-foot grand piano, Nicole and her trio will open this 3-month series with selections from her two chart-topping CD releases and other timeless standards. Named “Best New Jazz Artist of 2004" by HMV/Japan, Henry has just returned from Korea and Japan on tour with the Eddie Higgins Trio. While in Japan, Nicole performed at the Tendo Jazz Festival sharing the bill with artists such as Nicholas Payton and Eric Alexander.

A singer and actress, Nicole Henry's beautiful and distinctive voice continues to gain fans around the world. The Nearness of You, her debut album, was enormously successful both in the U.S. and in Asia. Her most recent CD with the Eddie Higgins Trio, Teach Me Tonight, was released only in Japan and spent three weeks at #1 on the HMV Vocal Jazz Charts. With recent performances at the Rainbow Room with the Cab Calloway Orchestra and the Lincoln Center with the Juilliard Jazz Octet, Nicole begins her new domestic and international tour through 2006.
