DJ Antomattei, an American pro DJ residing in Tokyo, Japan has recently setup his own publishing house known as Marc Antomattei Press (MAP). The company is scheduled to release its first book during early 2011. Contrary to the first publication supposedly being a club and nightlife guide for the metropolis of Tokyo, the author had a change of mind to release another book he has been simultaneously working on instead. That book being about none other than the cool man of jazz himself, Sir Miles Davis.

Antomattei had this to say “Well, I only have the money currently to press one book with a second book following in about six months time. Although I started working on the Tokyo club guide first, I had more motivation going into the Miles Davis project because for one, I'm a huge fanatic myself of the man, and secondly I see it as something I could put out faster, and probably to better reception as well."

The book titled Miles: The Companion Guide to the Autobiography is an annotated guide to Miles' own book previously released over twenty years ago in 1989 by Simon & Schuster. Making up the core, the main content of this new book is an annotation including 388 listings in sequential order of songs & albums as mentioned by Miles himself in his autobiography along with the label information and how to find them should they be on a new label or a rare release. Some of the supplemental material includes a Miles Davis DVD listing, an appraisal guide to Miles Davis collectible CDs & LPs, a buyers guide to Miles Davis' music library for those who are on a budget and for those who aren't, plus more.

“All the music will be cited in a way that will serve two purposes, the first one is that it really makes the autobiography new and relevant again. It makes for reading it in its entirety a second time through all the more satisfactory. To be able to read about a song and then to easily find it in your collection and then listen to it is a great idea. The second thing you could do considering you have the time and money is research all these great songs on iTunes or Amazon, buy them and compile your own soundtrack to Miles Davis' life."

Although the book is scheduled for a February release, a shortened sample version will be available soon for press, reviewers, and fans. For updated and up-to-date information about this book release, please follow the author Marc Antomattei on the book's official Facebook page
