Beginning jazz piano students--How many times have you picked up a jazz piano educational book only to find content that was over your head by page three?

The Next Step is a fun and creative approach to piano playing for beginner to intermediate pianists in which increased knowledge of chords, scales and rhythms leads you to greater personal expression. How much previous experience do you need to benefit from this book? If you know how to construct a C, F and G chord, this book is for you.

Co-authored by jazz pianist and educator Bradley Sowash and Scott Houston, host of the popular PBS-TV music education series “The Piano Guy," the book ellaborates on concepts Bradley has presented as a frequent guest on the show.

More information including sample pages is available the Bradley Sowash website.

All About Jazz needs your support

All About Jazz & Jazz Near You were built to promote jazz music: both recorded and live events. We rely primarily on venues, festivals and musicians to promote their events through our platform. With club closures, shelter in place and an uncertain future, we've pivoted our platform to collect, promote and broadcast livestream concerts to support our jazz musician friends. This is a significant but neccesary effort that will help musicians now, and in the future. You can help offset the cost of this essential undertaking by making a donation today. In return, we'll deliver an ad-free experience (which includes hiding the bottom right video ad). Thank you.
