The 2003 first annual South Bay Jazz Festival was attended by over 2000 enthusiastic fans and featured such celebrated contemporary jazz artists as Norman Brown, Wayman Tisdale, Everette Harp, Hiroshima, Gregg Karukas, and Rick Perkins. Good weather, good music, and good behavior marked the event, which was a source of civic pride for Inglewood residents who have long fought against negative stereotypes associated with the city.
