FLECKTONES MAGICIAN EDUCATES NEXT GENERATION

Five-time Grammy winning bassist Victor Wooten will continue hosting a series of educational music and nature camps in late summer and fall at his own Wooten Woods, which is located just an hour outside of Nashville. Wooten Woods is a newly built camp/retreat and private event center located in Only, TN, resting on 150 acres along the bank of the beautiful Duck River. The facility has multiple large buildings for special events and instruction, an1018 square foot dome structure, an open-air pavilion, large and small sleeper cabins and houses, a performance barn/meeting space with an indoor/outdoor amphitheater and industrial kitchen, large bathhouse and plenty of space for personal or event-style tents.

Upcoming camps include:

Sept. 6-11: Bass/Nature Camp: This 6-day experience is an opportunity for bass guitar players to come together to learn and play with qualified instructors.

Sept.17-18: Jam Camp Weekend: This 2-day experience is a one-of-a-kind gathering open to players of all instruments with the opportunity not only to “jam" with other students, but also with Mr. Wooten and various guest artists.

Sept. 29-Oct. 2: Spirit of Music Camp: This 4-day camp is spent investigating the side of music that is sometimes felt, but rarely talked about, and claimed, by some, to be impossible to teach. Students learn and explore the hidden side of music. Dan Levitin, author of This Is Your Brain on Music, will be a special guest instructor at this very unique camp.

Mr. Wooten teaches each day and all day at all the various camps along with special guest instructors. Camps are open to players 15 and older unless otherwise noted on the website. Prices for the camps vary and do include lodging. Most do include meals but check the website for details.
