Rhythm Dynamics Inc. is very happy to report that “Jazz My Soul" by The Jazz Explorers is being noticed and picked up by radio stations across the planet. From trend setting New York, Colorado, California, Florida, Texas and 7 other states to jazz-aware Europe, Australia and beyond, “Jazz My Soul" is showing broad appeal with at least 6 different tracks getting airplay.

This extraordinary project features great performances by a unique gathering of jazz legends, including George Cables, Dave Liebman, Carmen Lundy, Billy Hart, Sonny Fortune, Victor Lewis and Cecil McBee with a strong supporting cast. “Jazz My Soul" propels contemporary mainstream jazz forward with power and subtlety. The Jazz Explorers perform the soulful original music of Boulder, Colorado composer, producer and band leader Tim Duffy, whose influences include Duke Ellington, Howlin' Wolf, Charles Lloyd, Sun Ra, and James Brown.

Producer Bob Funk brings to this project a broad range of musical experience, as an original member of The Uptown Horns, including live performance and/or recording with Ray Charles, The Rolling Stones, BB King, Stevie Wonder, Tom Waits, Albert Collins, Sammy Davis Jr, David Sanborn, James Brown and Frank Sinatra Jr. “Jazz My Soul" features two shimmering vocals, “We're Only Human" and “Autumn" both with deep under currents, exquisitely interpreted by the great Carmen Lundy, that bridge the classic/smooth/contemporary categories. T he instrumental tracks of “Jazz My Soul" convey a broad range of emotions from the driving hard-bop “International Ballistic Soul Kiss" with a burning solo by Dave Liebman, to the funky smooth groove of “Mo Trane", to the profound piano of George Cables on “Our Father", “Mystique" and “Moroccan", culminating with the heartfelt tribute, “In Memorium, Elvin Jones" delivered by former band mate, Sonny Fortune. From atmospheric to inspiring, “Jazz My Soul" is the real deal.
